Angus Glen Community is well-known for two golf clubs, Angus Glen Golf Club and York Downs Golf Club. The York Downs Golf Club encompassing 417 acres of land, was sold to real estate developers to build a new master-planned community.

Community Overview

Angus Glen runs from Kennedy Road on the East to Major Mackenzie Road on the North and 16th Avenue on the South. The west side borders Bruce Creek meandering through Angus Glen Golf Club and York Downs Golf Club.

1. Housing:

Angus Glen residential real estate was primarily developed after the year 2000. The northeast corner is a relatively more mature neighbourhood featuring beautiful heritage-inspired homes. These homes are situated on narrow, tree-lined streets and offer detached garages at the rear off laneways. Most housings in the community are single detached homes, but freehold townhomes and condo townhouses are also typical. The upcoming real estate development at York Downs Golf field includes large single-detached houses to high-rise condos, with a few mixed-use commercials.

From MLS listings, in the past 90 days, Angus Glen Markham sold 7 detached houses on average of $2,596,571; 11 Attached town home, Semi-detached and Link houses on average of $1,453,136.

2. Demographic:

Angus Glen is another dominant Asian community in Markham, with over half of the occupants Chinese. The median household income ranks top 11% in GTA. Furthermore, More than 60% of residents in Angus Glen have received a university degree or higher.

3. Transportation:

Families will need cars to commute. The entries of highway 404 on Major Mackenzie Drive and 16th avenue are about 6 miles away from the community. Without a car, residents can also use public transit. Several YRT bus routes are along 16th Avenue, Kennedy Road, Major Mackenzie Drive, and Angus Glen Blvd.

4. Recreation:

Many small creeks and ponds are scattered throughout the community. Angus Glen Golf Club offers two 18-hole championship golf courses and has previously hosted multiple worldwide golf events. Located close to Warden Avenue and Major Mackenzie Avenue, Angus Glen community centre features NHL-sized ice rinks, a public library, a double gymnasium, an indoor pool, and more. Nearby Angus Glen Tennis Centre is a 27,810 square feet indoor tennis facility.

5. Shopping:

Residents can find several plazas along Kennedy Road. The Shoppes of Angus Glen and Berczy Village Shopping Centre offer restaurants, Tim Horton, retail bank branches and other service-related stores. Another favourite destination for locals is Village Grocer, located at Kennedy Road and 16th Avenue. The store is famous for its meat, bakery and deli but also offers a small dine-in cafe area.

6. Schools:

Buttonville Public School is an excellent elementary school serving the community. Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School offers French Immersion Programs to students and ranks No. 12 high school in Ontario. Located at Rodick Road north of 16th Avenue, St. Augustine Catholic High School is another excellent high school serving the community.
